How the school is run

Children’s blocks

Beginnings

The idea for the Chrysalis School for Autism came about when parents of two autistic children in Hertfordshire got together and realised that they shared the same frustration. They both recognised that if they wanted to continue the huge benefits that their children’s home-based Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programmes gave them and their families, then they would need to be taught in a small school environment.

The pressures of running their children’s education themselves at home meant that the only feasible way forward was to follow the example of parents in other areas of the UK and set up an independent ABA school in Hertfordshire.
